Nick currently lectures on Applied Ethical Theory in the core courses of both the Executive and Professional MBA programs and oversees the integration of Ethics in the various undergraduate curricula at the Villanova School of Business. Known for his excellence in the classroom, Nick has won the Lindback Award for Teaching Excellence at Villanova University.
During the 1990s, Nick was a visiting professor at Penn State’s Great Valley School of Graduate Professional Studies and, more recently, he twice won the Whitney Award for Teaching Excellence at The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania.
Nick has been active in developing and teaching in numerous customized programs at the Aresty Institute of Executive Education at The Wharton School. These programs focus on developing strategies to implement ethical decision making in organizational culture for several Fortune 500 companies including ADP, AIG, Comcast, Dubai World, IBM, Marathon Oil, Merrill Lynch, Philip Morris, Textron, TGS-Nopec and United Health Group, as well as for several financial services associations such as AICPCU, CIAB, CUES, IMCA, LIMRA and The Securities Industry Institute. Nick has also been involved in several “open” programs for chief financial officers, chief learning officers, chief security officers and those participants interested in Critical Thinking.
PUBLISHED RESEARCH / THOUGHT LEADERSHIP
Nick has published a book used in Business Ethics courses, Ethics and Corporate Responsibility, authored several articles in finance ethics and whistleblowing, and contributed to the Encyclopedia of Political Economy. His most recent articles are on “Culture Change: Unintended Consequences and Ethical Issues for Competitive Strategy” ,“Corporate Responsibility, Ethical Leadership and Global Competitiveness” and “Ethical Issues of Consumer Privacy on the Internet”. Professor Rongione’s research interests include ethical theory, business ethics, corporate governance and individual privacy.
PROFESSIONAL & CIVIC ACTIVITIES
Nick served his community as Director and President of a local School Board for twelve years, capping his experience by being named a Finalist for the position of Commissioner of Higher Education in PA. He has presented papers and spoken at various scholarly conferences, professional associations, church meetings, community groups, and graduate seminars on the current state of ethics in society.
