Overview

Kristen Campbell is a PhD student in Wharton’s Health Care Management and Economics department. Prior to joining Wharton, Kristen was a senior clinical research coordinator in the Penn Center for Mental Health, where she helped lead a large randomized trial comparing different models of primary care-based addiction treatment. Previously, Kristen worked for an NGO in the Southern Philippines with a focus on empowering indigenous communities through health, education, research, and community development, held roles in two public health departments, and spent four years in actuarial and medical economics positions at the large health insurer Aetna. Kristen holds a Bachelor’s of Science in mathematics from Duke University and a Masters of Public Health (MPH) from University of California, Berkeley. She is interested in pursuing health management and economics research that leverages administrative, clinical, and experimental data to transform mental health and addiction policy and practice. Kristen is also passionate about global health, health equity, and social determinants of health.
