Overview

Kai is a PhD student in the Operations, Information and Decisions Department at the Wharton School, advised by Dean Knox. Before coming to Penn, he received a First Class master’s degree in mathematics from Imperial College London, UK, with a year spent abroad at the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne, Switzerland. His interests lie in the development of novel mathematical and statistical methods for causal inference, with a particular focus on partial identification. Ongoing applications of his work include discriminatory policing, fairness, social mobility and the intersection of classrooms, educational technology and personalised learning.
