Overview

Jay Sastry is an MD/PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania, completing the first phase of medical training. Jay holds an MPhil in Economic Research from the University of Cambridge through the Frank Knox Memorial Fellowship and received an A.B. in Social Studies from Harvard University. Prior to his time at Penn, Jay served as a research assistant for Opportunity Insights, an economics research group founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Since 2020, he has served as a research lead for the Program in Clinical Economics and Policy Analysis at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School. Jay has contributed to projects focused on individual insurance marketplaces and is interested in payment reform, mergers & consolidation, and the impact of new technology in healthcare.
