Overview

Tabitha Mustafa is a doctoral student in Legal Studies & Business Ethics. Their research combines insights from philosophy, law, and Africana studies to explore the perennial influence of historic colonialism, imperialism, and racism on contemporary structures in capitalist society. Mustafa aims to promote equity and justice by analyzing the ethical, political, and social factors that underpin globalized business, corporate law, and policy. Mustafa’s recent academic awards include the Hans Jacob Heckmann Fellowship (2020-Present), Marc and Diane Spilker Corporate Governance Fund Fellowship (2020, 2022), William Fontaine Fellowship (2019-present), and George James Doctoral Fellowship (2019). They hold an MS from Wharton and a BA from Tulane University, summa cum laude. Prior to attending Wharton, Mustafa was an international advocate, community organizer, and consultant.
